This Privacy Policy describes how Cami (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Cami platform, including the website, chat, and any related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described below.
HIPAA compliance. Cami is designed for HIPAA-compliant workflows when used in Clinical Assistant mode. Our Scribe feature (voice and video transcription) uses a HIPAA-compliant audio transcription provider so that clinical and legal use cases are supported with appropriate safeguards for protected health and legal information.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide. When you use Cami, we may collect:
- Conversation data: Messages you send in Chat, including in Research, Customer Service, Clinical Assistant, Legal Intelligence, and Tutor modes. This may include text, and if you use Scribe (voice or video transcription), audio or video you upload or record.
- Account and profile data: If you create an account or use the Dashboard or API, we may collect email, name, and usage or API keys as needed to provide the Service.
- Contact and support: Information you provide when you contact us (e.g., via the Contact page or email).
Information we collect automatically. We may collect technical and usage data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and how you use the Service (e.g., pages visited, features used). We may use cookies and similar technologies for operation, security, and analytics as described in this policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service (including processing your messages through AI models, Human+, and M.I.N. as part of Cami’s functionality).
- Transcribe audio or video you submit via Scribe when you use that feature.
- Respond to your requests, support, and feedback.
- Send you service-related or legal notices where required.
- Analyze usage to improve the product and security.
- Comply with applicable law and protect our rights and safety.
3. How We Store and Retain Data
We store your data on secure servers and retain it as long as needed to provide the Service and as required by law. Conversation and transcript data may be processed by third-party AI and transcription providers (see Section 4). You can request deletion of your data by contacting us (see Section 8).
4. Third Parties and Sharing
We may share or allow access to your information with:
- AI and technology providers: To generate responses, we may send your messages to third-party large language model (LLM) and related API providers. Scribe (voice and video transcription) uses a HIPAA-compliant transcription provider; when you use Clinical Assistant or Legal Intelligence modes, processing is designed to support HIPAA compliance.
- Hosting and infrastructure: We use third-party hosting and services to run the Service; they may process data on our behalf.
- Legal and safety: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or security.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your conversation content for advertising targeting.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Request a copy of your data (portability).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for essential operation (e.g., session management), security, and to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
